Advent Calendars!

Hi everybody!

So it is nearly December which means it's very nearly my favourite time of year! All of my family and friends know I am a crazy person when it comes to Christmas; I made (and listened to) a Christmas playlist in early October.

As well as the fact that Christmas is even closer in December we also get the joy that is advent calendars! It's so lovely being able to get a little present a day. This year I've not got a chocolate one but I do have 2 others.

The first one is this m and s beauty calendar which I am beyond excited about. It has lovely brands in it like Burt's bees, Cowshed, Crabtree and Evelyn and L'occitane. It has a value of over 200 pound of products but I got it in a promotion if you spend 25 pound you get it for 25 pound! It was also 20% off that day so I got it for 20!

I also have this lovely Yankee candle advent calendar. I know it is lovely because I actually had one last year. I got this one in the sale around the middle of December so I saved it for this year! That's a really great way to buy the more expensive advent calendars as after the first week or so the prices drop!

I was thinking of doing a weekly roundup of what I had in the beauty advent calendar up until Christmas. I usually do my blog post on a Monday or Tuesday so this post will be on a Thursday!

Hope you enjoyed this post, do you have a different sort of advent calendar this year or are you sticking with chocolate?

Makeup for Work.

Hi everyone!
So a lovely reader emailed me about what I do other than this blog and asked me some questions. I am in uni full time but I also have a part time job at a high end retailer. This gave me the idea to do a blog post on the makeup I wear to work! So where I work doesn't have any rules regarding how you have to wear your hair; I've worked in restaurants before and have always had to wear my hair up. I was so excited when I heard I didn't have to wear my hair up in this job, but I still find myself opting for a ponytail most days.

As far as makeup goes, as I'm in work I don't like to wear anything too heavy. First I use Avon's face perfected as a primer which is a really great product. I'm also wearing my bourgeois BB cream which I really love. It always leaves my skin looking and feeling healthy and dewy. I also use Rimmel wonderlash mascara with Argan oil. This does feel nourishing and my eyelashes never feel too heavy but if your looking for a lengthening or curling mascara this won't be for you. I'm also wearing Benefit's lollibalm which has a subtle pigment and feels lovely. I actually used FCUK lip balm in hot pink on my cheeks. When I'm wearing a more dewy look I like to use a balm on my cheeks rather than a powder blush. I also use Rimmel brow this way brow mascara in blonde which is a dream product. It can be so hard to get a good eyebrow product for blonde hair but this is a great one.

So that's it for makeup! I like to keep it really simple and not fuss to much. I hope you enjoyed this post! Whats your go to for work makeup?

Beauty Blogger Get To Know Me

Hey guys,

I have had this blog for a little while now so I thought it would be fun to do a little beauty blogger quiz. I like to write back to all the comments the blog gets but its nice to do a whole load of questions at once so here goes..

What is your favourite high end Makeup brand?

Mac for sure! I love their foundation and lipsticks.

Lipstick or Lip gloss?

Definitely lipstick.

How do you pick your shade of foundation?

Honestly I am not that good at this, I really like to ask someone that works there. Mac are so amazing at picking out the right shade for you, I think that's partly why I love their foundation so much.

What is your favourite high street makeup brand?
Either Rimmel London or Elf.

Which celebrity's makeup do you love?

I think Angelina Jolie Pitt's makeup always looks phenomenal!

Liquid or pencil eyeliner?
I'd have to go for liquid.

Favourite colour lipstick?

I don't know about favourite but I have a lot of nude shades.

Nars or Mac?
Mac, but I do like Nars too.

Do you own any Urban Decay Makeup? If so what?
I have the Naked 3 Palette which I really love. But that's all I have from there!

Best beauty tip?

Using a primer keeps your makeup on longer and makes it so much easier to blend.

Is washing your brushes something that you regularly do?

I really try to but I think, like everyone, I could definitely wash them more regularly

What is your worst beauty habit?

As soon as my nail gets chipped or breaks I have to take them all off right away. It doesn't sound that bad but I get obsessed with it.

How organised is your make up and nail varnish collection?

My makeup is really organised but my nail varnishes are all over the place.

Hope you enjoyed this post!

Outfit of the Night.

Hi everyone!

Sorry that I haven't posted in a while. I have been super busy with uni and work! Anyway, last night I went out with some friends and this is what I wore. It was a hard decision to pick what to wear because we were going to a club but it was a casual one. A casual night out is always hard to dress for. I bought this super cute wine coloured corduroy pinafore dress from Topshop yesterday. I actually bought it as a day dress but I love it so much I wore it out. The top underneath it is also from Topshop and has really pretty lace sleeves.

These over the knee boots are my favourite things at the moment. I have honestly been looking for ones like them for a year. I really struggled because most of the ones I tried on were too big on the thigh for me. I also didn't want ones with a huge heel. These are perfect and what makes them even better is that they are from Primark! I only spent £20 on them which makes me very happy haha.

Hope you enjoyed this little post

Apple Crisps.

Hey everybody,

So I really love cinnamon, especially at this time of year. I have been making this autumn snack a lot recently so I thought it would be fun to share it with you all! These taste so good and are reasonably healthy! They're also super easy to make.

To make these you will need 2 apples, these are Golden Delicious. You also need 1 and a half teaspoons of sugar, I've used brown sugar, caster and granulated and they all turned out great so use whatever you have. Lastly, you need half a teaspoon of ground cinnamon.

Slice the apples up as thinly and evenly as you can and place them on a metal baking sheet. Mix together the sugar and cinnamon in a bowl and sprinkle it over both sides of the Apple crisps. Put the chips in a preheated oven of 110 degrees C or 225 degrees F. Cook them for around 45 minutes to an hour. You can flip them at about half way if you want to. Once you've taken them out they won't crisp up until they've cooled down. They taste so good and are ridiculously easy to make.

Thanks for reading, What are your favourite snacks?
